WORST PRACTICE

Yesterday I went in early to finish filming the rest of my tryout video for Penn State and it went well. When I got home, I helped my mom put it together and I was very pleased with the overall ending of the video. Also, when I went to practice I gave them my WISE commercial project and they all loved it! The coaches were so impressed by my film making abilities, they might want me to make their tryout video for next year.
When I got to practice that night, my coach was extremely mad and he decided to make us go through a whole 2 hour conditioning practice because 3 people did not show up! It was the worst, we were in the dance room for an hour just working on legs and arms while he stood above us upset and criticizing us. We were all so tired. Once the gym was cleared out we went back out onto the floor and finished conditioning for the next 45 minutes. It seemed like it would never end! Lastly, he told us we had to hit all of our stunts or we would do more conditioning but unfortunately we did not do that in the beginning. Once we were able to get back into the stunts, as a team we hit them all together and we were so happy.
This weekend I have a competition so I hope it is goooddd!

MORE FILMING AND GOLD

Yesterday was actually very successful for my project! When I left school, I went home to change to start filming again for my Penn State video. This time, I did more angles of the same things I have already done, along with new footage of things I have not filmed yet. First, I did the cheer and jumps which I had not filmed before. After, I went back to things I have previously recorded but new I could do better. I did more tumbling (standing and running). Lastly, I recorded the dance I needed and it was great. I feel that video is really coming together and I hope I make the team.
I have an appointment today to get the last part of my film done which is stunting and then that night we are putting it all together to send it out tomorrow morning. I am so nervous.
Yesterday, I also had gold practice so I had to go and watch. Danielle and I did not get that much done because they were taking up the whole floor and they wanted quiet. We ended up leaving at 9 since our part in the routine is not until the last competition we did not have much to do. Everyone else finished at 9 45 but they did not care.
Hopefully everything I need to do today will get finished.

BAD DAY

Yesterday I had an appointment to film more footage for my college cheerleading tryout video but unfortunately I was not able to get things done. Since most of my coaches were out of town for their own cheerleading competition that only two coaches were left at the gym. My coach, Mike, said that I was able to come in early before practice and work on the video since he had a key. I was on my way when he texted us to cancel practice since too many people on my team decided they were too busy. Mike had told me I was still able to come in and tumble but when I got there, he had not left yet. He told me he was going to leave but I had gotten a call a half an hour later telling me his car broke down and is unable to get to the gym.
I had to drive all the way back to weston and he told me I can come in early today to film since the video is due. Therefore, I am leaving school at 1 and getting to the gym at 2 or 230 to get things done before I have gold practice.
Hopefully everything works out good today! (:

Cousins

Before my spring break had even started my cousins had come into town from Penn State. Because of this, it was hard for me to do a lot of cheerleading that was not scheduled for practice.
The first day I came in, I had let them relax because they had just gotten off a long plane ride. We watched some tv and talked to their father with my grandparents. Once my family got home form work, we went out to eat to a cuban restaurant and then went to yogurtland. We were very chill about what we did the first day.
The next day, I brought them shopping since Alanna had wanted to get some new jewerly for a dress she had bought and they loved Pembroke Gradens. We did not stay there long because they were really excited to go bowling. I had bought time to play two games and I ended up beating them both, even when we played a whole game backwards.
On saturday, we went over to the Mantuos house and we played Mexican Train Dominos, which Olivia was wanted to play for the longest time! Unfortunately, I had to go to practice for that night but the next day we had my grandfathers birthday.
On Sunday it was my grandpas 90th birthday and we had a celebration at his condo and a lot of people showed up. It was nice to see him in his comfortable habitat and he loved the celebration.

Competition

We had another competition but because it was a little competition none of us exactly cared that much on what we looked like.
The competition started at 130 and ended and at 430 so it was only three hours; therefore, my coach had told us we could wear our hair all up in a ponytail rather than the usual half up half down curls. Usually we had to wake up so early to get ready and curl my hair but I was able to get up when I actually woke up. It took a record 20 minutes to get ready for the competition instead of the 2 hours before that.
While we were are the competition, there were not many teams competing so we had to watch some teams and soon enough we were the ones on the floor. Since we were the most skilled cheerleaders at this competition, we were the last ones to go on the floor and then we had the awards. We ended up getting first like the rest of the Florida Triple Threat cheerleaders.
Unfortunately, after we competed Kelly had ran off the floor and nobody realized it until we could find her. We saw her walking with another girl Savannah and did not think anything of it but Kelly had actually broke her nose again during the routine. Because of that her sister and I went to go and help her, we ended up having to leave the competition early.
Although, we got first place, it ended up badly for some. ):

Before spring break

I had so much practice before spring break and it was really annoying because I just wanted spring break to start already! It seemed like every time I had down time, I had practice, it was really abnoxious.
But during the practices we had to change a lot of the routine because some of the girls were not going to be there for the the next competition. Although, I did not have to change anything personally, we had to get a new base for my stunt so that was not good. We had to rework the group and make sure it worked or it would have gone crazy for all of us at the competition.

GOLD

Last practice we learned to know that there is a spot available on Senior Gold for the Worlds competition and of course I wanted to try for it. When I went up to the coach, Danielle and I decided we would tell him we wanted to do it and he was really excited! He told us to come next practice to watch the routine.
So today at Golds practice, Danielle and I showed up and started to watch where we would be placed if we came on the team. After we got bored watching the team we started doing the skills in the routine that we needed for Gold. We were so excited that we had gotten some skills since we have never tried some before, all of the coaches thought we were so weird.
Once we worked on our skills, we started to make up random moves and put it to their music, we had everyone on the floor laughing. Because we were not doing much, we decided to leave early but we are so happy that we will probably be on the Gold team (:
But we still have practice for Panthers tomorrow!

GOOD PRACTICE

Todays practice was much better than most of the practices that we had this year and it was a good change.
At the beginning we ran outside while we raced the other people on the team so we did not have to run an extra lap around the park near the gym. After each person finished their laps, we stayed outside and jumped on the concrete. Unfortunately we have been doing this lately. I am not able to jump very well on concrete but we took 30 minutes from our practice to jump. We always have to wait for the younger kids to get out of the gym and work hard. Finally, after all of the teams left and we had the gym to ourselves we moved back inside.
From the start it seemed like Rudy was not in a good mood, but it was because he was just frustrated with the younger teams. We warmed up by just doing 5 backhandspring backs and did a work out exercise in between to get stronger in that skill.
Since we needed to change some things in our routine, we went to the pyramid and fixed it considering Kelly had broken her nose from it at the last competition. Even though we kept a lot of it the same, it has been hitting much better and I am very happy with it. Our back spot was not here today but we hit it with one of the coaches backspotting.
After we hit our pyramid we hit our stunts with a new skill and we were so happy because it was the first time my stunt had tried it and we hit it six times in a row. We were so happy! I cant believe we had hit and our whole group was amazed, even our coaches!
At the end of practice, I stayed after and filmed some of our tumbling and it was good, I landed my skills. Although I didnt get all of the footage I wanted, I got enough for now.
This practice was really good although we ended later than usual but it was still nice. (:

FINALLY BACK

I am back from spring break and I hate being back in school but I have still been working my WISE project. Yesterday I had gone to tumble to work on my college cheerleading video and it has been working out really well. Over the weekend I had started to film me stunting with my coaches.
I watched Miami Elite practice since some of my old cheerleaders that I coached are now on that team. I tumbled a little bit in the beginning but once their practice started, I had to stop.
My midterm project/commercial for wise is due on monday and I am getting a head start on it. I have my song picked out and I hope that I finish it early so I can turn it in and make sure that everything is good to go.
Sorry this entry is a little short, I am still getting back into the mode.

DAY FOURTY

On Saturday my team had practice in the morning at 11. We warmed everything up and we ran the routine full out after we fixed everything we needed to. Unfortunately we also had competition that night which sucked since we already worked out.
After we got home, I took a nap before we started getting ready. We watched Spongebob unfortunately considering it is my least favorite show and then started to curl my hair. Since I let other people curl my hair, it turned out pretty bad but I didnt really care. Since it was a small competition, it seemed like it didnt matter.
This competition we actually won and it was really happy for us since we went against 6 other teams. Unfortunately one stunt kinda dropped but we were still happy how well we did.
The next day, we had another beach fundraiser and it was a little windy. Since most of the team didnt show up, the people who did actually gets more money. After two hours, it started to rain and we ended up going home. Finally I was ready to do homework and clean my room.
The real world starts again.

DAY THIRTY EIGHT

On Saturday and Sunday I finally competed in Dallas for the 8th time since I started cheering and I still love that competition.
Unfortunately, on Saturday we had to wake up really early to watch our little sisters compete and congratulate them when they did good. After the first day, they were in fifth even though they hit a pretty good routine. Each of the little ones were really happy because none of them have been to Dallas and it was cute to see them so excited.
Finally after they competed we took a bus back to the hotel and Panthers got ready for their competition and it was so nice. We relaxed while my mom brought up lunch for us as we curled our hair. We had to do mine twice because they tried doing it last night but Kelly and Danielle definitely do not know how to curl hair!
After three hours of hair and makeup finally getting done, we left to go back to the competition. The first day when we competed we warmed up and we did so well. But when we went on the floor, the two outside stunts had fallen. All of our hearts sank at that moment but we still finished the routine.
The next day we did the same routine, watched the little ones, got ready, and then competed. Sunday at the competition, we did much better the first day. One stunt bobbled and the pyrmaid was a little shaky but it was much better. Everyone was very happy that we "hit" the routine but we still didn't win. I figured we were not going to win but we were still happy to do well.
After we got our placing, we went to the arena again and watched the other level 5 teams! It was so much fun and we loved it.

DAY THIRTY SEVEN

I know I have not written in my blog in a while, I have been in Dallas Texas for a cheerleading competition.
I left on Thursday in the morning at 8 30 and it was brutal. Waking up that early to catch the flight was really annoying but we made it. I flew with my mom, Kelly, and Danielle. When we got on the plane, all three of us were so uncomfortable that we tried sleeping in so many positions. In the end, Danielle ended up sleeping on the floor of the plane, while I slept against the wall and Kelly slept on me.
Unfortunately, it was a connecting flight so we had to get off in North Carolina. The airport in North Carolina was really pretty although we were only there for about 30 minutes. We ended up getting pizza and running on the plane to eat it.
Finally we got to Texas and we checked into the hotel. The hotel we stayed in the first night is the same hotel World Cup was staying at and it was beautiful! It was so nice that we ended up going to the gym and working out.
After running and doing abs, we took a shower and went out to the marketplace and restaurant area near our hotel. Unfortunately, there were not many stores, we went to Fridays to eat some food and walked to CVS to get some things we forgot to pack.
When we got back to the hotel, we wanted to go to the gym one more time but we were so tired, we took a power nap. The power nap ended up becoming a 14 hour sleep not waking up till the next morning at 9 30.
The next morning, we woke up and got ready to go the Dallas Aquarium. All three of us love aquariums and we though it was going to be a normal one but, it ended up being one of the best aquariums I have been to. I was really excited to see the sharks and the otters because they are my favorite sea animals. It was a three story aquarium with some animals not found in the ocean such as a leopard and tree kangaroos.
After the aquarium, we moved into the new hotel and got ready for practice that we had that night. We didn't exactly want to go to practice but we knew we had to. The practice ended up being one of our best practices and the head supervisor at our gym had tears in her eyes. She was so proud since we tried so hard in that practice. Also, before practice each panther member was paired up with a cub girl (little sisters). I was paired with someone who I started coaching four years. I love her and she was so cute!
I saw my old cheer coach that I have had for 5 years and taught my everything. It was great to see him and he actually staying at our hotel so it was really nice. We talked about how much I have grown up since he coached me and how proud he was of me.
